Newborn cloth diapers There are countless reasons why you should use newborn cloth diapers. Among the million advantages of newborn cloth diapers are economical, environmental and health benefits for your family. When making an economical choice, newborn cloth diapers are the way to go! On average, you will spend around $2,450.00 on disposable diapers before your child is potty trained. If you have two children, that equals $4,900.00! That is a lot of money being wasted when you can use newborn cloth diapers and save thousands of dollars. Using newborn cloth diapers will cost approximately $742.00 (that includes laundering expenses!) Your second and third child will cost a lot less since the cloth diapers are reusable! Using disposable diapers creates an unhealthy environment for our children and their future. It is estimated that each child dumps a minimum of 7000 disposable diapers into our landfills creating 2.7 tons of non-biodegradable wastes in just 2 ½ years. In addition, the feces in each diaper pose a threat to our wildlife and water supply. As if that wasn’t enough, the manufacturing companies of disposable diapers use massive amounts of trees and dangerous chemicals creating more damage to our wildlife and environment. Newborn cloth diapers pose no threat to us, our children and our environment. Unlike disposable diapers, newborn cloth diapers are pure and healthy for your baby. Sodium polyacrylate, which was associated with Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), is found in disposable diapers. Because of TSS, polyacrylate can no longer be used in tampons; what about your baby’s diaper!? Even more, an article reveals that the employees manufacturing polyacrylate have been linked to many female organ problems, slow healing wounds, fatigue and weight loss. These harmful chemicals are in your baby’s diaper, they are the tiny little gel balls on your baby’s skin and in their diapers. Dioxin (causes liver disease, immune system suppression and genetic damage) and tribulytin (one of the most toxic substance ever made) have also been found in disposable diapers. There are about 48 chemicals your child's delicate skin is exposed to when using disposable diapers and wipes. It’s amazing what information I have found on this. I, among others, had no idea how harmful disposable diapers can be to our children. It is flabbergasting and scary. Just like most moms out there, I have been using disposable diapers. Trust me when I say there is a lot more harmful facts linked to disposable diapering, I just named a few. Its beyond me why they even make such harmful products for children. Just writing on this made me want to switch to newborn cloth diapers. Why not improve the health of our children and their future?
