A good Potty Chair can be the difference between easy and hard potty training.

Is it time for you to shop for your child’s potty chair? This time in you and your child’s life can be as fun as you make it. It is essential for you to have time and patience when training your child to go "pee pee" and "poo poo" in the potty chair.

Most children are ready to “do the deed” when they can let you know their diaper is
wet or soiled. They are especially ready when they say they are! Generally, this happens when your child is around 24 months of age. Do not get upset if your child is still in diapers at the age of 2 or 3. It is not uncommon for children to shy away from the potty chair at that age.

The most important step of potty training is purchasing the right potty chair for your child. By now, you know what colors or designs would best suit your child. Get the potty chair you feel your child will be most drawn to. When introducing the potty chair, make it a big and happy subject. Say things like “this is Jaxon’s big boy potty chair” or “this potty chair is for big boys to pee pee and poo poo in, like daddy.” Whatever sparks their interest, say it! Let your child play with the potty chair before taking the big leap into actually using it. Have your child keep it in his playroom for him to teach his stuffed animals and toys to go potty on the potty chair. Once he gets the hang of it, teach him to sit on it
and to like it when he does. After these steps are accomplished, have him sit on the potty chair when he says he has to go to the bathroom. If he does not go, it is ok. Let him make you think he went like a big boy. Remember, it takes time and patience. Always make potty time on the potty chair fun and exciting by the way you speak about it and even with stickers or any type of positive reinforcement. A great way for your child to get into his potty chair is to get them a Potty Training Chart
Once your child gets the hang of how to sit and when to sit on the potty chair, the final task is near. Place stool from a dirty diaper into the potty chair and let your child see as you transfer the “goods.” Then clap your hands as if was the most exciting thing you have ever seen, no matter how silly you feel, and then let him flush the potty chair.

These are great potty chairs you can purchase to help potty train your baby!
